Platelets in our blood contain growth factors such as VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factors). Platelet-rich plasma has emerged as a promising alternative for chronic wound healing, as growth factors are released. A critical step for this therapeutic approach is platelet activation, typically initiated by trauma when thrombin is released. Recently Electric Stimulation proved to be a powerful alternative as a nonbiochemical platelet activation method, thereby avoiding the associated risks of inflicting trauma to the injection site.
PRP injections seemed to make sense in poorly vascularized areas such as tendons and cartilage. However, the number of platelets present in the well vascularized skin of face and scalp, proved to be a more than a 40-fold of the injected PRP derived from a 10ml syringe of whole blood.
REYU ‘PRP’ ensures in an unsurpassed way, the activation of platelets through microcurrent, in more than 400ml of blood which are already present on site, thus avoiding the risk of unnecessary trauma inflicted in regular PRP. Platelet activation using electric pulse stimulation: growth factor profile and clinical implications

Results: Electric pulse stimulation triggers growth factor release from platelet α-granules at the same or higher level compared with BT (Bovine Thrombine).
Conclusion: Electric pulse stimulation is a fast, inexpensive, easy-to-use platelet activation method for autologous platelet gel therapy.
